It takes a whole village to raise a child.
I’m sure almost everyone has heard this popular phrase. When a couple becomes a parent, it is not just their responsibility to ensure that their child grows and develops into a good, healthy adult. Raising a good child requires the support and involvement of those around the child, including family members, family friends, teachers, peers, and society in general. Little Care is more than just a company; it is an initiative to build better childhoods and develop healthier adults. We care for the lives of your little ones. We acknowledge our responsibility as members of the community to support a healthy childhood for your little one.
Why Children’s Mental Health Support Matters Today
Children’s mental health is a major concern globally, with common disorders including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral problems. Recent statistics show that a significant portion of children and adolescents are affected, and it is a shared societal responsibility to support their well-being through collective action and diverse therapeutic approaches. Unlike earlier years, the number of children affected by various mental health issues is rising at an alarming rate. But you don’t have to be scared about this, because Little Care is there for you. We provide diagnosis and treatment through various therapeutic methods, ensuring that your child is well-supported throughout their crisis.
Common Mental Disorders in Children
The most frequently diagnosed mental health conditions in children include:
Anxiety disorders- Anxiety among children is very common, and these can involve excessive fears, worries, or avoidance behaviors that disrupt their day-to-day functioning (e.g., social anxiety, generalized anxiety, separation anxiety).
Childhood Depression- Childhood depression affects children and involves symptoms such as prolonged sadness, irritability, withdrawal, and low self-esteem.
Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)- Attention deficit alone can be observed in children, or hyperactivity alone, or a combination of both. It is characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Behavioral disorders- Conduct disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder are serious behavioral disorders that involve aggressive and disruptive behaviors, significantly impairing their normal functioning.
Autism Spectrum Disorder- A neurodevelopmental disorder affecting communication, behavior, and social interaction. This is an umbrella term that encompasses several disorders.
Several other mental issues affect children. Many times, it is difficult to find mental health support tailored for children alone. Little Care is your one-stop destination for all mental health concerns relating to children. Assessments will enable us to diagnose their condition correctly. After the diagnosis, we incorporate a variety of therapeutic interventions tailored to their unique needs. Common therapeutic interventions include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT)- By identifying the negative thinking patterns and trauma responses, we challenge them to develop more positive thinking and healing.
Play Therapy- This is very effective for younger children. It uses play activities as a mode of expression and healing.
Since children are young and growing, when it comes to mental issues and therapy for children, parents are an active component of the healing process. Family therapy is extensively used where the therapist involves immediate family members and encourages them to improve communication, resolve conflicts, address relational issues, and take an active part in their child’s healing journey.
Whether you are a first-time parent or have 3 other kids, parenthood is a uniquely difficult yet rewarding experience. Every child comes with unique challenges and needs, and as parents, we strive to provide the best for our kids.
It is important to know that you can’t be the perfect parent- the one who never makes mistakes. The goal of parenting is to try and improve ourselves at every stage to be a better parent, not a perfect parent.
We offer sessions for parents to address concerns related to their individual mental well-being, their relationship with their spouse, work-life balance, and every other concern associated with parenthood.
The greatest gift any parent can give their little one is a good childhood. While that seems scary enough, we want to make sure that you’re not alone in this. Little Care is there for you. We understand that parenting is a rocky road- one filled with confusion, fear, anger, sadness, and an eternal joy that nothing else in this world can provide. Little Care is a team of passionate professionals focused on providing the best care for your little one. It is our responsibility to nurture them and help them grow up into wonderful souls. We collaborate with you to make sure that your little ones live to the fullest.
Children are God’s gift to this world.
Let us join our hands as one family and offer the best to these little angels.
